Welcome to the web site for me, Richard G. Heck, Jr. I am currently the Romeo Elton Professor of Natural Theology at Brown University. I taught at Harvard University, from 1991 through 2005.

You are welcome to contact me with any questions you might have, but please be advised that, unfortunately, I have too many commitments to be able to give detailed answers to unsolicited questions about philosophy. If you want to ask such questions, try Ask Philosophers, where I am a panelist.

There are three other sections on the site:

• Philosophy
  Here you will find a list of my publications and some on-line versions of papers, including some not yet published, as well as information about courses I'm presently teaching and links to their web sites, where appropriate. There is also a section containing some materials I have used in courses I've taught.
• High-end Audio
  Here you'll find some stuff on one of my main hobbies, high-end audio, including answers to such questions as "What is high-end audio?" and "How might one get started with this hobby?"
• Linux
  Here you will find some information about Linux: how I became a convert and why you should, too. There are also some programs (or, more honestly, scripts) I've written, and there's a longer section of information about running a LAMP server. Eventually, there will be a guide to building and configuring a home network.
